Our mission is simple but powerful: to create meaningful cultural connections through a wide range of artistic, cultural, and physical activities. We believe in the power of art and culture to bring people together.

We organise various events, including workshops, courses, exhibitions, film screenings and social gatherings, to facilitate community engagement and cultural exchange.

Our current activities

Established in March 2024, Kulttuurimaja Kamera Ry is a new nonprofit association. Currently we are organising a film making workshop and planning our upcoming activities.

Kulttuurimaja Kamera Ry is a nonprofit association registered in the Finnish Register of Associations (y-tunnus 3431715-3)

Kulttuurimaja Kamera Ry, located in Helsinki, Finland, aims to foster interactions between immigrants and the local Finnish population, promoting societal participation through a broad spectrum of cultural, artistic, and physical activities. The association organizes various events, including courses, exhibitions, film screenings and social gatherings, to facilitate community engagement and cultural exchange.

Kulttuurimaja Kamera Ry also aims to engage in public discussions and advocacy to support its community-focused mission.

Board Members

Melis Ari-Gürhanli (President)

Melis has long worked in the Finnish NGO sector as an expert particularly on matters related to integration and mental wellbeing. She also is very active in various European and Transatlantic networks connecting people and organizations from diverse backgrounds. She holds masters degrees in social sciences as well as arts. Melis is currently the chair of Kulttuurimaja Kamera and the contact person for stakeholder relations as well as advocacy work.

Yonca Güzelpinar Aydinonat (Secretary)

Director-Producer. She worked in the cinema and television industry in Turkey for many years. She directed many TV series, documentaries and programs. Since 2017, she has been organizing the Film Workshop for Turkish Speaking Youth in Helsinki. Responsible for organization, events and communication at Kulttuurimaja Kamera Ry.

N. Emrah Aydinonat (Treasurer)

Emrah is a philosopher of economics working at the University of Helsinki. He is one of the Chief Editors of the Journal of Economic Methodology, and a member of the Editorial Board of the History of Economic Ideas. He also serves in the International Advisory Board of The Review of Evolutionary Political Economy (REPE). At Kulttuurimaja Kamera Ry, he manages the finances, website and logistics.

Cooperation
